How to play Gemborn

A beginner's guide to Gemborn, the idle gem-mining game in Telegram - the first minutes, upgrades, workers, eggs, fusion, the Lucky Wheel, the Weekly Raffle and the best tips to grow your mine fast.

Updated October 2026

Gemborn is a free idle mining game that runs inside Telegram as a Mini App. Your mine digs gold on its own; you come back to send the full lift up, upgrade your mine, hatch Gemborn workers and collect rare gems. This guide walks you through the game from the first tap to the late game, with tips that make your mine grow faster. For every exact number see the whitepaper.

Start in 30 seconds

  1. Open @GembornBot in Telegram and tap Play. Nothing to install, no sign-up, no wallet needed.
  2. Tap the stone: Gembo wakes up and your first lift of gold is already full. Tap Claim.
  3. The second lift is full in 15 seconds and the third in one minute. Use the gold on the upgrade Gembo offers in his speech bubble.
  4. Turn on lift-full alerts when the game asks: the bot tells you when your lift is full (at most three times a day, never at night) and the first time pays +500 Gold.

The game speaks ten languages and opens in the language of your Telegram.

The core loop: dig, claim, upgrade

Your mine fills the lift with gold at your mining rate (gold per minute). When the lift is full, mining stops until you claim, so short regular visits pay the most. Every claim gives gold and XP and has a chance to find a gem.

Spend gold in the Forge:

  • Pickaxe level: +10% mining per level. The cheapest steady upgrade.
  • Lift: holds 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes of mining. A bigger lift lets you stay away longer.
  • Workers: hire Quartz Gemborns while a spot is free.
  • Depth: each new depth multiplies base gold by 1.5 and opens new gems.

New pickaxe tiers (Copper ×1.5 up to Starborn ×12) are bought in the Shop and open at player levels 3, 6, 10, 15, 22 and 30.

Follow the next goal

One goal is always shown on the mine screen, with its progress and its reward: the first pickaxe levels, a bigger lift, level 3, the Day 2 gift, level 5 and Stone Halls with a free egg. After that the goals never run out, the rewards grow and every fourth goal is another free egg. If you don't know what to do next, do the goal.

Levels and ranks

There are 100 levels and 11 ranks, from Digger to Gem Emperor. Levels open pickaxe levels (up to your level + 10), worker spots (one more every five levels, up to six), depths (Stone Halls at level 5, Crystal Caves at 10, Magma Vaults at 20, the Ancient Core at 35) and ranks. Every level-up pays a gold gift, every fifth level brings an egg, and from level 21 Mastery adds +1% to all mining for every level.

The first levels come fast. Level 50 and above are a long climb, and level 100 is for the most dedicated miners only.

Gemborns, eggs and fusion

Gemborns are your workers. There are six rarities, and each digs about 2.5 times as much as the one before:

RarityBase gold per minuteEgg odds
Quartz+360%
Amethyst+825%
Sapphire+2010%
Emerald+504%
Ruby+1250.9%
Diamond+3000.1%

Eggs come from the Shop, level gifts, goals, the day-7 streak gift, the Lucky Wheel, friends and the Weekly Raffle. The odds are always shown, and 50 eggs without an Emerald or better guarantee one.

Up to six Gemborns dig in the mine; the others wait on the bench (up to 24 in all). In the Forge, fuse three of a kind plus some gold into one Gemborn of the next rarity. A Diamond can then grow by levels, +10% each, up to level 50.

The Gem Book

Each of the five depths has six gems to find, 30 in all. Every lift has a 6% chance to uncover one, and a gem pays bonus gold on top of the lift. Complete a set of six and your mining grows by +5% forever. A Lucky Lamp and Gem Rush weekends double the gem chance.

Every day in the mine

  • Daily gift: a reward every day you come back; day 2 is an hour of mining and day 7 brings an egg. Don't break the streak, or keep a Streak Save.
  • Daily tasks: ten claims, one gem, and a reaction to the latest post on the news channel and on X. Rewards are minutes of your mining.
  • Lucky Wheel: one free spin a day, four more for gold. Prizes from 30 minutes of gold to a 12-hour jackpot, Auto-Lift, Lucky Lamp and eggs.
  • Lucky Vein: at 08:00, 13:00 and 17:30 UTC every claim pays double for a while. Claim during these windows.
  • Gem Rush: every Saturday and Sunday the gem chance is doubled.
  • Daily Boost: an optional small check-in that doubles your lift gold for five hours; the first one is free.

The Weekly Raffle

Each week you collect raffle tickets by playing: one for every 10 claims made by hand, one for every day you take the daily gift and one for every day you finish both play tasks, up to 15 a week. Play on at least three days, be level 3 or higher and you are in the draw. Every Monday at 00:05 UTC fourteen players win: a 30-day Gem Pass, three Epic eggs and ten big gold prizes. Tickets are never sold. Taking part also builds the Weekly Raffle part of your Airdrop Score.

Friends

Share your link from the Friends screen. Your friend gets 500 Gold on their first claim and you get a free egg. Once they are real players (three active days and level 5) you earn 10% of the gold they mine, plus 2.5% from their friends, without taking anything from them. Milestones at 3, 10 and 25 friends bring a Sapphire, an Emerald and a Ruby.

Tips to grow faster

  1. Claim often early on. A full lift stops digging. In the first days, short visits every 10-30 minutes grow the mine fastest.
  2. Buy the lift upgrades once you play less often: a 60-minute lift keeps working while you sleep a little longer.
  3. Pickaxe levels first, tiers when they open. A new tier multiplies everything you already have.
  4. Fill every worker spot. Then fuse duplicates: a rarer worker in the same spot digs far more.
  5. Go deeper as soon as your level allows. Each depth is ×1.5 to base gold and six new gems.
  6. Use Lucky Vein windows and Gem Rush weekends for your claims and Lucky Lamps.
  7. Keep the streak and the daily tasks. They pay gold, eggs and raffle tickets.
  8. Every price has an "!" that tells you what it does and how many hours of your mining it equals. If something costs many hours, there is usually a better upgrade first.

Is it free?

Yes. Gemborn is free to play and has no ads, ever. Optional purchases (with Telegram Stars or GRAM) only make things faster; everything can be reached by playing. Bought gold never counts toward the Airdrop Score. Read the airdrop guide to see how play turns into a share of the $GEMB airdrop, or the FAQ for quick answers.
